Your new role
As a Cybersecurity Specialist, you will be tasked with protecting the organization's information assets by identifying, mitigating and preventing security threats. The role includes implementing and maintaining security measures, monitoring systems for vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulations. As well as responding to security incidents to protect the integrity, confidentiality and availability of data.
Main responsibilities
- Participate in the incident response to security incidents, ensuring effective containment, investigation, root cause analysis, and documentation.
- Participate in 24/7 incident response on-call duty.
- Maintain and operate the vulnerability scanner (Nessus) to perform regular vulnerability assessments, and coordinate remediation efforts to address identified security gaps.
- Deploy and manage advanced threat detection tools, utilizing threat intelligence to proactively identify and analyze potential security threats.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and work proactively with our MDR provider and security partner to maintain security controls and oversee remediation activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security monitoring capabilities, including use case development and automation opportunities.
- Support network segmentation and hardening of network and system configurations.
- Assist in security awareness through a diverse range of initiatives, including ongoing phishing simulations and focused awareness activities.
- Support the delivery of IT and business projects.
What you'll need to succeed
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar position within medium or large-sized companies.
- Strong understanding of security principles, best practices, and technologies such as XDR, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, and identity management, in the design, implementation, and operation of IT systems.
- Technical proficiency in cyber security architecture, tools, and techniques.
- Proven experience within cyber security, including security operations, incident handling, and cyber defense.
- Knowledge with threat intelligence, attack techniques, and threat detection methodologies.
- Knowledge of attack surface reduction techniques with regard to AD hardening, system hardening, and network hardening is a plus.
- Experience working with and managing Palo Alto firewalls, including Panorama, is an advantage
- Ability to communicate security risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and work across the organization.
- Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001&27002, CIS18 and NIS2 directive
- Experience with cloud security (Entra)
- Experience with hybrid infrastructure.
